| Because of Dr. King, James Brown had a funeral that rivaled a President's. |

| Well, spoken, except maybe the "gay" part - but I don't personally know Dr. Kings extended family. Howard Stern is taking the day off. He may or may not have some comment Tuesday. |

Homosexuality was a "deviant behavior" in the DSM# (Diagnostic Service Manual?) until 1972 or 1973. I remember it being considered sort of a "big deal" by sociology and psychiatry classes when that happened. A lot of people still equated male homosexuality with child molesters.
I sort of liked the school classes shown on TV today getting kids to make general anti-violence pledges in MLK's name.

Oh my, Bob.. this will surely upset you, then...
MLK Party Causes Uproar on Texas Campus
http://apnews.myway.com/article/20070125/D8MS8LP00.html
| Quote: | DALLAS (AP) - Authorities at Tarleton State University said they plan to investigate a Martin Luther King Jr. Day party that mocked black stereotypes by featuring fried chicken, malt liquor and faux gang apparel.
"I feel like there is no excuse for this type of ignorance," said Donald Ray Elder, president of the Stephenville school's chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
Photographs posted on social networking Web site Facebook.com showed partygoers wearing Afro wigs and fake gold and silver teeth. One photo showed students "mocking how African-Americans do step shows," Elder said. In another picture, a student is dressed as Aunt Jemima and carries a gun.
"That upsets me," Elder said. "That's someone who knows nothing about Dr. King, because Dr. King was totally about nonviolence."
Wanda Mercer, the school's vice president of student life, said an investigation was planned into the Jan. 15 party... |

This is true. The only reason why homosexuality was taken off the DSM was because gay activists began attacking psychologists, storming their conferences and threatening violence and outings.
Ironically, the Gay Rights Movement would never have happened if it weren't for "Dr" King, something Parks fails to grasp.
The Right Perspective did a very good show exposing the truth about "Dr" King, including the fact that King was a Communist agent and the so-called "non violent" protesters were not as well-behaved as the Leftist-controlled media makes us believe. You can download the show here. _________________
