This gem was found at Howardshrine... Doc is strange. Cue "Strange Brew" (Cream?) from the 1970s. Maybe better yet, "People are Strange..." Whose song was that? After a certain age, they all run together.

http://www.howardshrine.com/2006/...rview-with-doug-goodstein_02.html
Quote:
Doc: Hi Doug. Thank you for granting me this interview. I understand Doc, from howardshrine.com sent you his 288 page tribute to Howard Stern and his show entitled, Howardshrine: One Fan's tribute to a Great Man, a Great Show. How did you like it? I understand Howard Stern has it on his coffee table at his office at Sirius. He must like it. What has Howard Stern told you about his thoughts on the Howard Shrine and Doc, the greatest howard stern fan of all time?
Doug: I got the book and I thought it was pretty interesting. I did not sit down and read it cover to cover, just skimmed through it and enjoyed all the pictures.

Doc: Why didn't you send Doc from howardshrine.com a thank you card, or let him know how you liked his book? I understand that you even contributed to the book.
Doug: I thought I had sent him an e-mail back saying I got the book. Sorry if you are a sensitive one Doc!

Doc:What do you think of the board war between the cesspool, sternfannetwork.com and howardshrine.net?
Doug: I really don't know anything about it and honestly don't really care. I do enjoy SFN for the record and occasionally check out howardshrine.com but I am neutral.

Doc: Are you familiar with the practice sternfannetwork has of sending people gay pornography in a looping file that is identified as a virus on most anti-virus programs? Although some say it is harmless, it has been reported to have crashed computer networks? Do you feel that that kind of activity reflects positively on Howard Stern and Sirius Radio? How do you feel about sternfannetwork sending people spam without the proper option of be removed from the mailing list?
Doug: Again, I really don't have any thoughts about it.

Doc: Are you aware that people are banned from sternfannetwork simply for speaking their minds but are quickly reinstated after donating money?
Doug: Man you have a beef with SFN. I don't know enough to comment on this stuff but good luck with your battle with SFN.

Doc: The actual physical Howard shrine is being moved within the next month and a half. Are there any plans for Howard TV to capture the Howardshrine for the True Fans of Stern to see on Howard TV. If not, why not?
Doug: I would consider it. I know how to get in touch with Doc and I will put it on our short list for a possible special to shoot as long as its seems worthy and interesting. There may be restriction with the amount of published material and copyrighted images.

Doc:Have you watched the Howardshrine's submission to the Howard Stern film festival? Here is the link to it. http://www.howardshrine.com/media/shrinemovie.wmv
What do you think of the Howard Shrine movie?

Doug: I think I am going to call the authorities!!!

Doc: What do you think of Doc's challenge to box Mutt the Pig with the winner winning the other guy's website?
Doug: Good luck with your fight! Mutt seems like a tough little husky dude. Not sure how tough you are Doc but good luck if it ever happens.

Doc: How big is your penis?
Doug: No problems and never had a complaint. You are a bit strange for asking.

Doc:How would you describe Benjy's odor?
Doug: Smells like chicken teriyaki. Thank you.

'bootski: yes, Strange Brew is by Cream, 1968.
People are Strange, The Doors, '67?

Wow! Was Doc the interviewer? Third-person is always strange.

Didn't know the site was named after an actual shrine ("Strange Brew, kills what's inside of you...).

I never realized the obsession to get 'near' Howard 'til coming to his bb's. Radio-god, indeed...

This interview is the strangest since that one where Gary D. was sent to interview VanHalen and his band as an intern in the 1980s. Gary was practically chased off the premises after according to the legend...

Doc is probably hoping that someone will chase him.

On a couple of these questions, I felt like saying, "OK Doc, take breaths in between sentences." He really loaded a couple of them up. Some questions were made more inflamatory by the added descriptors.

I've seen a number of threads at SFN of late asking why/how people found SFN. I found SFN Summer 2004 while looking online for information about frequent callers to the Stern Show (namely Gary TR, Wendy TR, and Beet). I found pictures of them and the 2004 Vegas Trip in the SFN Photo Gallery. I had followed the Vegas trip closely on the radio and thought the Vegas area of the Gallery was particularly well done. Back then a lot of show questions could be asked and answered in General Chat without a lot of the name calling, etc. that occurs today. SFN still allowed anyone to search and was a good source of information on the show. I'm not sure that those things are as true today. Search is a function reserved for Supporters leading to a contant scroll as people repeat threads someone else started 15 minutes before. People asking even the simplest show history questions are often treated badly while General Chat fills up with posts of members calling each other out.

I've probably visited, joined, and made a post or two at most of the Stern forums on the web. At Sirius Backstage (which could easily become the new "Information Please" site of Sterndom - as could Howardshrine if they worked at it), people new to Stern often bring up a perception of how difficult SFN is to navigate and that they usually don't find the information they expected to. That's a weakness that sooner or later, one of the smaller rival forums will figure out how to exploit to their advantage.

Read some of the Mutt SFn thread about Doc. Seems mental...

Terry, what's up with these ads?:

Stern VS. Opie & Anthony... Howard Stern Fan Network

xxx.sternvirus.com ,,, xxx.indemand.com/HSOD/

I saw your post at HSFN(??) and the guy didn't answer you.

What's that "bb wars" Stern v O... stuff? I'm seeing that ad everywhere!

I think a lot of sites use Stern's name knowing people will click, but many of those sites offer little real information. PM me the url of the post. I don't recognize the sternvirus.com place - but that doesn't mean a lot.

Ads using Stern vs. O&A are indicating they have an XM bias. Obviously O&A don't have the content for their fans to discuss without trying to "mix-it-up" with Stern. A lot of foreign .mp3 places use Stern as a teaser, but the Stern catalog there is always empty. Or there's an ad leading you to a site with a dozen other ad sites...

I got an e-mail about the penny promotion thing at www.indemand.com/HSOD/ last week. It's a promotion for OnDemand. A penny to see this sampler video with cuts from all the videos they've done - something like that.

Yes, I will never be able to look at charts on a Doctor's exam room wall with a straight face again. It's just the right size for YouTube. He might as well put it there now. Stern's people will never put it in the 2007 Film Festival.
