First, the over-riding rule is to play nice and keep your hands to yourself.

Second - Many things are offensive to many people. All this cannot be helped, if we censored everything that "offended" people, we'd have zero posts.

So we're not going to do that. With a few exceptions (See below) you need to remember the following, to wit:

Just because a thing isn't removed doesn't mean it is endorsed by the site admin or the moderators.

In other words:

THE POSTER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN POSTINGS.

That said, the following things are off limits, and are insta-bans. You will get no warning, you will be banned by IP. handle, and email.

1.) Pedophilia - the advocation of sex with children and minors who are not of the age of consent.

2.) Advocating criminal actions - calls to murder, rape, commit terrorism, et al. THIS DOES NOT include advocating civil disobedience. That is on topic.

3.) Posting pornography.

4.) Posting libelous statements which might have the effect of legal action against the admins, moderators, or myfreeforum.org.

5.) Threats of violence, especially against other users.

6.) Posting protected information about anyone, including SSN's, credit card numbers, medical information and the like.

7.) Invading the privacy of any member. This includes posting real names, addresses, phone numbers, email, places of emplyment, indentifying family members, etc. etc. ad nauseum, ad infinitum ***HOWEVER *** if you yourself provide these things, or links which might provide them, you lose the right to claim this protection. For example, my blog provides my email. I have it in my sig. It is now public record.

8.) Violating copyright law by posting pirated software, works of art, or similar intellectual property, or links to places which do violate that.

9.) Spamming the board.

Things which will get you banned eventually include consistantly ignoring moderator and admin requests to drop subjects for a while, to debate properly, or to cease abuse of other members. Also, posting consistantly offensive racist or sexist material. This is advocating the inferiority of a person by an accident of birth, and/or advocating second class citizenship for the same reasons. Note: Unlike the tenets of political correctness, this applies to white people and men as well.

Again, while some subjects are not off limits, at a certain point, if debates begin to become to heated or personal, the thread will be closed first for a short while, then for a day, and then permanently. Re-opening threads which have been closed will result in removal of the ability to post.

Open abuse of the forum or forum owner is a bannable offense.
