I'll be busy tonight pruning old dead threads and accounts so I can get a nice clean backup of the DB. I want to make sure that everything is saved. I'll get us on later tonight.
UPDATE 6PM: Well, the SFN legal team has tracked down Corey's name, address, phone number, photo, myspace page, etc. It's all been forwarded to the host. The site is downloading now and I'm busy compressing the backup of the database. The attachments and galleries will take some time, but so far so good.
UPDATE 7PM: Though I still don't have any answers yet, the webhost contacted me to say that posting the wackbag screen name of the Burst.net employee who threatened yesterday to take SFN down is somehow a violation of their TOS. I removed it so we don't get shut down again.
The entire site excluding the attachments is downloading now. When it's finished. I'll work on them. Looks like we'll be down all night.

It's 24 hrs since I first contacted Burst about the post made at wackbag and we're still not able to turn the site back on. The BurstNet VP emailed me at 11PM last night. I just saw it and mailed him back. He says he's a big Stern fan and that no O&A fans will be screwing with our server. Though he was very nice, I still do not have the answers I need to turn the site back on. I've been dealing with 4 or 5 different people and things seem to be getting lost in the shuffle. The last thing I want to do is open up and get turned off again. At the same time I do not want to unnecessarily censor this board to prevent it. I am confident we'll be OK after I hear back from him.

I've been told that they've deleted the original post. I don't know though because I always get the high traffic message.
I assumed this was just a goof, but did a little checking. Armed with only his wackbag screen name and email associated with his account, I found that he lived only a few miles from where our server was hosted. Now I was more than worried. I emailed the host at 8AM Friday and continued my search for info. When I hadn't heard back by 11AM, I started calling. I finally spoke with a Support guy who was very helpful. He was going to look into things and asked that I send him whatever I could find about coreypsu33 so he could determine if this person really did work for them. He assured me that they do not tolerate this kind of nonsense.
I posted at SFN asking for the members to help me find out who this guy was and the members came through. Don't f*ck with the SFNers because it's scary what they found. I emailed the support guy I spoke to earlier with coreypsu33 's full name, address, phone number, birthday, a link to his myspace page where he lists BurstNet as his employer, and a photo. When I returned to SFN, we were offline.
There was alot of confusion and allegations at this point. I was in contact with 4 or 5 different people at BurstNet and every time it looked like things were straightened out, someone else would get involved and things would get F-ed up again. We were turned back on and told it was all handled. Then an hour or 2 later we were taken back off. At the same time, Doc the boy ass lover was busy emailing everyone he could think of to tattle on SFN. He contacted the H100 News, he contact the host, he updated his blog. Face it, he's an obsessed nut and had a hard on because the mighty SFN had been taken down. FUCK YOU FAGGOT!!! Put that in your blog. Then the H100 News was trying to contact the host & interview me. It all just got crazy.
Once we were online again, I turned the site off and started backing everything up. I didn't know what was happened, but I sure as hell wanted to download everything ASAP. The site has been compressed and downloading for most of the night.
Now that I've talked to the CEO of Burst, I honestly believe that coreypsu33 did not take us down or break any Patriot Act internet terrorism laws. He was just acting unprofessionally and he inappropriately revealed something private about our account. If I hadn't been searching the net all morning trying to figure out who this guy was, I may have seen the email which Burst sent me the afternoon before letting me know that we'd be down at noon Friday. You have to admit that the way he worded it, it sure looked like he was saying he was knocking us offline. It caused mass confusion with us and with them.
coreypsu33 didn't attack us. We were temporarily taken down for a legitimate reason. coreypsu33 knew about it because he works there. The only thing he did was left out why we'd be offline leaving us all to believe it was him doing it. He's just a stupid dickhead that caused problems for his employer and me.
I'm telling you all now not to f*ck with coreypsu33 in the real world. Don't f*ck with him at home. Don't f*ck with our host. I told the CEO it would end now and he said he'd have our back from now on. Make fun of him on the internet all you want but don't call him or his work. I'm sure he had a rough day yesterday. I know if I was his boss, I'd be f*cking pissed. There's no need to gather anymore info about him. Thanks to everyone that helped but I'm calling off the dogs. You don't need to complain to the host. If you do now you are hurting the site far more than helping.
I've been assured that we will not be taken back down. Even the complaints from SFN haters will fall on deaf ears. I took this opportunity to warn the CEO of any other issues that may happen in the future so they are on to your anti-SFN campaign. With our new alliance, SFN is stronger than ever before. |
