RIP, Mr Ford...
Came across as a simp, but he was OK with me. Saw a few TV memorials about his presidency, and was surprised to find that we had it so bad in the '70s. Honestly the best times of my life. In my 20's then, I had no idea we were in a 'recession', and with gas station owners as friends, didn't suffer gas-rationing. Odd that the lefties are now praising Ford after the Iraq announcement. And that Nixon went on to become one of our respected statesmen after his Watergate scandal.

the 70's is when there was such a serious gas shortage that people waited on lines (sometimes around blocks) to get into gas stations.
THAT was when america should have seriously worked on developing alternative energy sources and get us off that oil bullshit. we wouldn't be in this dumb war if the US had done that. but who listens to scientists??? it's not like they know what they are talking about, now, is it?? |
