Talkers Magazine Online rates talk hostshttp://talkers.com/talkhosts.htmList of top talk radio hosts (estimated audience) is up at TALKERS magazine. Al Franken comes in at #13, a mere 12.5 million fewer listeners than Rush. The cutoff is one million, and, amazingly, a few "progressive" talk hosts made the cut. Not sure how accurate these figures are and, again, the likes of Franken, Schulz, and Steph Miller still lag way behind Rush, Hannity, Savage, Ingraham etc. (Note that these are TALKERS magazine estimates and are not necessarily the same as Arbitron ratings figures) Still at the top is Rush Limbaugh followed by Sean Hannity, who again moved toward narrowing the gap between the two. Michael Savage remains a powerful force and Dr. Laura Schlessinger shows amazing resilience considering many news-talk stations? realignment toward more politics and less relationships programming during the past year. Limbaugh and Hannity ?? the nation?s leading political talkers ?? showed some overall erosion since the prior survey, but a study of news-talk radio trends over the past 15 years indicates that this is common in the ratings periods immediately following an election year. More recent indicators over the summer show that both hosts, as well as political talk in general, are moving back up to their prior positions. Hosts on the upward path include Neal Boortz, Mike Gallagher, Bill O?Reilly, Doug Stephan, Jerry Doyle, Bill Bennett, Ed Schultz, Tony Snow, Michael Medved and Dave Ramsey. Making their first appearance on the survey are Al Franken, Alan Colmes and Stephanie Miller Listeners in Millions

Limbaugh crowned No. 1 in talk radio again - Link
NEW YORK, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Talkers magazine reports conservative hosts Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are the most popular radio hosts in the United States. More than 13.75 million people listen to Limbaugh per week while Hannity draws more then 12.5 million weekly listeners, Talkers reported. Michael Savage is third with more than 8 million listeners a week. There is tie for fourth place between shock jock Howard Stern -- soon due to move to Sirius Satellite Radio -- and Dr. Laura Schlessinger with more than 7.75 million weekly listeners, the New York Daily News reported Saturday. Laura Ingraham filled out the Top 5 with more than 5 million. Talkers said it used Arbitron data and "other reliable indicators" for its semiannual rankings report. |

Does anyone have a subscribtion to the print version of this mag? I was thinking of ordering a year's worth but the cost is pretty steep.... Wondering if anyone ever held one in their hands..... | ||

It's probably the type of thing radio execs check monthly for ratings. A higher-paid talk host or agent might subscribe, a beginning local DJ might not (is there such a critter anymore?). The talk station I used to listen to had/has an entire day of "canned" syndicated hosts. |

Reading the post in Gen. re the new lefty radio network (how many jellybeans would fit in Rosie's head??), thought I'd bump this.
This was published almost a year ago. They also cover hosts 101-250, bottom of page. Where's Mike McConnell??

Here's the latest "Top 100" top talk radio hosts (estimated audience) from TALKERS.com magazine.
Rush maintains the lead, Stern falls to 12th, and with their FreeFM "gift", Opie & ANthony rocket to 6th. Mike McConnell did make it this time - anyone listen to his Premiere Radio Weekend show from Cincy? Leykis didn't do as well as I thought, falling from 12th to 30-something.
