How about a "SuperFan Squaretable?"I won't be able to d/l this myself until morning... He made it to 98 posts, before being banned for this one... Does he have anything going on, or is this a point 'n laugh? It looks like he was probably banned for overdoing self-promo, arguing with staff/show VIPs - more than the content of his proposed program.

Is he better or worse than the SternCritic Podcast?
Edit note: I'm changing the title of the thread. Seems inflammatory.. and I don't want a flame war with SFN. But feel free to continue a discussion on whether "square" conservative Stern listeners could pull off a weekly podcast taking highlights of a week's show and doing conservative analysis. I read one of the threads at SFN completely through and listened to the podcast. I think the banning was for issues outside of the podcast (over-promotion and arguing with staff/VIPs were mentioned).
On the podcast sound quality:
Good radio voice... Content doesn't get as far if the voice is hard to listen to.
Needs:
- Content - Maybe find some "square conspirators" and do weekly wrap-ups with a conservative edge.
- Interaction - Needs a way to "simulate interaction." If there were several people who wanted to contribute remotely, how can they get together? Could they send each other soundbytes and have one person with software take responsibility for assembling the podcast and making introductions. Does online voice chat work for this type of thing?
- Production/Editorial talent.. to piece all the bits.
- Coordination - There needs to be a way to contact the podcaster on that website. I e-mailed him through the SFN "blind e-mail" to invite him to the thread here. I have no idea if he'll show. Maybe he should set up on a Blogger.com blog and allow commenting, too. The blog could then be posted at different sites, in such a way that does not violate a particular board's rules.
If this guy can get people to contribute, he should "just do it." If the podcasts get enough conversation, someone in the Stern show will spot it and tell Howard. The Stern Critic podcast is interesting too. Keep it short, 30- 60 minutes. The audition compression was good for the high compression file. Maybe offer a low compression choice too. Maybe this guy should see if he can coordinate something interview-wise with Matt Drudge or Debbie Schlussel. They're both old Stern fans. Stay away from Chaunce.

I finally got caught up on listening to some stuff. Like you said, it's up to him to take it to another level. I wouldn't count too much on SFN there. The priorities are: - Hear Howard
- Hear the "In crowd" talk about Howard
- Catch the Replay
Conservatives are a minority there. He shouldn't have argued so much with Boots.

He has a good voice and would probably be a good "podhost." He needs to get some "caller soundbytes" or "sidekick soundbytes" together and edit them in. He could possibly have a friend record them and edit them in. He needs to deal with some real content before anyone can say if he's better or not.

I see he added an episode and put his e-mail on the website, so that people can contact him directly. I haven't listened to the 2nd episode yet. If anybody feels inclined to make and upload a soundbyte for him (like a telephone answering machine message or call-in) - I'd say go for it!
