"Morning After" Meltdown on "The View"

Hi! Cool site, good job! Here's something I saw on another forum and thought you might like...

The "Morning After" Pill and the fact that the FDA is mulling over the idea of giving it "over the counter" status?

I think it's a great idea. If something *breaks* or someone squirts unexpectedly, you go to the local pharmacy and take care of the problem within 72 hours -- No fuss, No muss. Plus, guys can find out right away if/that they made a mistake believing a girl who lied about having an abortion if anything went wrong.

Many -- but not all -- women feel the same, but here's a View meltdown on the subject:

Was that recently? I think the option should be available.

Make it over the counter- but make the pharmacist be required to explain risks. Birth control pills (which this technically is) interact with some medications.

It can be a slippery slope. A lack of education about something your putting in your body is simply stupid.
MajorMic

It is a slippery slope. Maybe it should stay prescription.
Lavish game ace

Anything to do with birth control and abortion is always a "hot button" issue, yet who winds up paying for all these unplanned for kids??

It's sickening the strangle-hold the pharmasutical industry has in the US, though. Even as far as suppressing those medically educated who would publish herbal remedies, holistic approaches, and the like.

Howard replayed most of this on his show Thursday. It was a riot!!
